Medicaid Fraud Control Unit

The Nevada Medicaid Fraud Control Unit investigates instances of fraud as well as patient abuse in long term care facilities.

Dishonest Medical providers steal millions of dollars each year through fraudulent practices. These are YOUR tax dollars—money that is be used to care for the poor, the needy and the aged.

Our job is to bring criminal charges against health-care providers who break the law.

When a provider of health-care cheats the system, the MFCU investigates. Providers include hospitals, nursing homes, pharmacies, doctors, dentists, and anyone else who is paid by Medicaid for a health-care service. It is a crime for a provider to bill Medicaid for a service not actually provided.

It is the general policy of the MFCU that a self-reporting provider will not be prosecuted on criminal charges.

Call us even if you only have suspicions, are not sure whether we can help, or have already called the police or a state agency. We can't help if we don't hear from you.

Report suspected fraud to our Fraud Hotline: 1-800-266-8688
