Attorney General Road Trip-April 2009

From April 15 through April 20, Attorney General Masto and members of her staff went on a Road Trip visiting various areas of the state. This is the fifth Road Trip since General Masto took office and included visits to groups in Reno, Spanish Springs, Silver Springs, Dayton, Virginia City, Carson City, Gardnerville, Incline Village, Fallon and Fernley.

With the theme of “Putting Nevada's Families First,” Attorney General Masto and her team discussed challenges facing Nevada's communities to a variety of audiences.

“The purpose of these trips is to get out of the office and meet face-to-face with residents to hear about their concerns and talk about what our office can do to help out,” said General Masto. “Nevadans are dealing with a range of issues including consumer fraud, domestic violence, identity theft, child Internet safety and senior protection.”

Issues discussed were Medicare fraud, identity theft, elder abuse, mortgage fraud and other frauds and scams, domestic violence, child advocacy, methamphetamine use and other drug abuse issues, National Do Not Call program, auto warrantee scams, foreign lottery scams, Internet safety and cyber-bullying.

The group made presentations to:
