Mike Willden, Director of the Nevada Department of
Health and Human Services
Mike was appointed as the Director of the Department of
Health and Human Services effective July 16, 2001. He
was the Nevada Welfare Administrator from June 2000
until his appointment as Director of the Department.
Prior to being appointed as the Welfare Administrator,
he was employed by the Welfare Division in various
capacities for 24 years. He began full-time state
service in 1976 as an eligibility worker and has worked
as an Internal Auditor, Program Specialist, Program
Chief, Deputy Administrator and Administrative Services
Officer. Mike is proud to say he is a native Nevadan. He
holds a degree in Business Administration.
