Dr. Rob Roberts, Superintendent of Nye County School
District
Dr. William E. “Rob” Roberts, Lieutenant Colonel, U.S.
Army (Retired) is Superintendent of Nye County School
District, Nevada, the largest geographical school
district in the contiguous United States. This district
encompasses 18,400 square miles, which include seven
communities and 17 schools with approximately 6,000
students in attendance.
Rob is a decorated combat helicopter pilot, former
assistant professor of military science at West Point,
Professor of Military Science at Stetson University,
adjunct Professor of Education for the University of San
Francisco and University of Phoenix.
Dr. Rob has held the position of principal at Incline
Village Middle School, Incline Village High School, and
Reno High School. He was selected as Superintendent of
the Year for 2004 by the Nevada School Board
Association. The American School Journal selected his
district for the 2005 Magna Award and Dr. Roberts was
honored recently by the Nevada TaxPayers Association by
being one of the top four selections for their annual
Cashman Good Government Award.
Rob joined Nye County School District in 2002.
